The traditional methods of psychotherapy follow a medical model. Ego-based psychology that pathologizes the traumatic experience and resorts to medication that overrides the psychospiritual transformative process of the individual while ignoring the depths of the unconscious.
Mental health practitioners can work with dreams, the body, the psyche, and astrology to bring genuine depth to their clients. Yet beneath the richness of their sessions, they miss something fundamental. They lack a coherent map that would allow them to understand how everything connects and which alchemical phase their client truly is navigating within their transformation process.
Ego centered psychology doesn’t incorporate the alchemical psychology of C.G. Jung. I have been studying psychological alchemy for 40 years.
